Der Brennbetrieb in der Glenrothes Destillerie begann unter „William Grant & Co.“ am 28. Dezember 1879, an dem Tag, als bei Dundee die Firth of Tay-Brücke einstürzte, 1880 thematisiert in dem dramatischen Gedicht „Die Brück‘ am Tay“ von Theodor Fontane.
Die Brennerei wurde 1878 ursprünglich durch die vier Herren James Stuart (Inhaber der Brennlizenz Macallans), William Grant, Robert Dick und John Cruickshank gegründet. James Stuart zog sic....
